SeaShell Cottage

The Beach House, which became "Seashell Cottage" is finished.  I have donated it to a Silent Auction that is raising money for Pancreatic Cancer Research.  I began working on this with the idea to build it and leave a lot of the decorations and accessories undone, maybe just do the bare minimum.  But, the more I worked on it the more I felt compelled to decorate!  This was a joy!

I love this view of the front of the cottage.

Completed Interior.

My first effort at a "Tin Roof"

Last night, I had so much fun working on making original artwork for the Beach House. The largest are 4 inches square and the smallest is 1 1/2 inches square.  Enjoy!

I started my first miniature project for 2018.  It's a Beach House.  I always do lots of planning then find that I let the project take me where it leads!

I can't believe it's been almost a year since I posted on this blog!  It's been a busy time.  This winter, I've made some changes to existing projects.

I had to adapt the Treehouse Retreat so that it doesn't actually live in our Weeping Birch Tree!  No matter what I tried, the "critters" were a problem!  I found a great faux tree stump to set it on and created a ramp that wraps around to go from the first floor to the second.

The Princess Cottage got new lighting and a little cosmetic work!

Abby's Mystical Rose Cottage had the most changes.  We had left it in a barely finished state and to submit it for publication it had to move forward!  I added a stone spiral staircase and additional space in the loft.  Lots of accessories and details finished it up.

I actually made the updates to the Forever Gingerbread Cottage in December 2017.

I always love the details that tell the story!

Summer Vacation 2017 with the grandchildren is over.  It was wonderful, just not long enough!  I am envious of the grandparents who live close to their grandchildren!
Abby and I worked on her "Mystical Rose Cottage" a little bit.  We squeezed it in between all the other fun stuff!  She is a real pro with the glue gun!  I can't wait to see what she does next time!

In preparation for my granddaughter's visit, I have taken the Mystical Rose Cottage that she and I began working on last Summer, off the shelf to get "my part" done before she gets here this Summer!

I put on a thatched roof and, believe me, it was a real learning experience!  I do love the way it turned out.  I also added window boxes and the moss to represent grass.

Inside I put in the electrical and added roof timbers on the ceiling.

I've gathered lots of "stuff" for her, including lots of tiny roses for her to turn into climbers and attach to the exterior.  Can't wait to see what she will do from here!

It's raining here at the beach today.  A good day to stay inside and get things done!  My first thought was to go into my work room and work on one of my projects.  My second thought is to bathe the poodles and run the vacuum in the "Real People" house!!
I found a fun, "shabby chic", metal wall hanging house at a craft store and want badly to work on turning it into a Fairy Habitat!  Guess that will have to wait for another day.
Sometimes, the "Real People" stuff has to be dealt with.
