Summer Vacation 2017 with the grandchildren is over.  It was wonderful, just not long enough!  I am envious of the grandparents who live close to their grandchildren!
Abby and I worked on her "Mystical Rose Cottage" a little bit.  We squeezed it in between all the other fun stuff!  She is a real pro with the glue gun!  I can't wait to see what she does next time!

In preparation for my granddaughter's visit, I have taken the Mystical Rose Cottage that she and I began working on last Summer, off the shelf to get "my part" done before she gets here this Summer!

I put on a thatched roof and, believe me, it was a real learning experience!  I do love the way it turned out.  I also added window boxes and the moss to represent grass.

Inside I put in the electrical and added roof timbers on the ceiling.

I've gathered lots of "stuff" for her, including lots of tiny roses for her to turn into climbers and attach to the exterior.  Can't wait to see what she will do from here!

It's raining here at the beach today.  A good day to stay inside and get things done!  My first thought was to go into my work room and work on one of my projects.  My second thought is to bathe the poodles and run the vacuum in the "Real People" house!!
I found a fun, "shabby chic", metal wall hanging house at a craft store and want badly to work on turning it into a Fairy Habitat!  Guess that will have to wait for another day.
Sometimes, the "Real People" stuff has to be dealt with.

Kirk and I made the drive to Cookeville, TN again yesterday.  This time we are listening to a book by Neil Gaimin called "American Gods".  During the drive I used my time wisely and drew up detailed plans for my next miniature.
I found, on ebay, the exact doll house kit that I purchased for my daughter back in the 1970's  I purchased the kit and am going to remake it using all the skills I have gained in the intervening years!  I can't wait to get started!!

I made a few updates for 2017 on The Princess Cottage.  Always a work in progress!

I have been working on something a little different from my usual miniatures.  I purchased a pre made unfinished wood castle and have painted it and purchased figures for it to give to my 3 year old grandson, Ben.  This has been a really relaxing, fun project.
