I completed my second Halloween 2016 project this past weekend. It started with finding a lantern with a "Witch in a Forest" motif. My imagination took hold and I could envision just how I wanted the finished product to be.
This is a "Witch and Dragon Lair" deep in the forest.
The construction was actually pretty simple. The lantern came with a battery powered light in the center of the bottom. I took it out and put in a wooden floor that I covered with moss. For the sides and back, I used vellum paper and then covered the whole interior with black tulle. In the ceiling, there are tiny twinkling lights and under the cauldron, another very tiny red light to give the illusion of fire.
The potions cabinet is made from wood scraps, cardboard and lots of paint and glue! The witch and dragons are all purchased, although I did paint the witches clothes to give her a more "spooky" look!
I'll be hanging this one on my front porch to greet the Trick or Treaters who come on Halloween night!
